Job Description: Renovation of Bathroom.

Dobie Properties was contracted to renovate my bathroom. I purchased a home on
Mulvey Ave. knowing that a major overhaul of the existing bathroom was needed.
Before purchasing the house, I met with the Dobie Renovation team and they assured
me that my vision for a new bathroom was achievable. The existing bathroom was in
rough shape, it was full of mould, and water damage from a leaky window in the
shower. It was awkwardly laid out, and very small. The extent of the renovation included
removal of the moldy plaster and lath walls and ceiling, replacement of rotten studs,
installation of new insulation, removal of a window, and siding repair to exterior of
house. The finished bathroom included the expansion of the bathroom itself to include a
new tub with low-flow fixtures, a dual flush toilet, custom cabinetry, and the installation
of a solar tube.

Throughout the process the men working in my home were polite and approachable,
answering all the questions I had. The work was done efficiently, and within an
expected schedule.

As an Intern with an Architect, it was important to me to work with contractors that have
the same values as myself. I respect that Dobie is committed to a sustainable city, and
these values are followed through to the smallest projects.

Dobie Properties Ltd. was contracted to do major structural repairs and esthetic renovations in my home.  As a single woman, I found their honesty and integrity most reassuring.  They were dependable, courteous, and they took great pride in completing the job at my total satisfaction.  I especially appreciated their creative suggestions regarding the esthetic renovations.  Ultimately, I would not hesitate to recommend Dobie Properties and their services.  They completed the job on time and under budget.

Job Description: Removal of existing fireplace and chimney

We recently had the pleasure of using Dobie properties to do some major renovations on our home. The job was to remove an existing fireplace and chimney from our main living room.

From start to finish we have been thoroughly satisfied with Dobie Properties.

Before the job Dobie Properties took the time to accurately assess the problem and to explain several options open to us. Each option was explained in detail and all considerations were discussed before a decision was made. It is obvious that Dobie Properties was not trying to sell us a service, rather they were trying to help us solve our problem in the best, most economical way available.

Dobie Properties finished the work on budget and on time. Each day the crew arrived when they said they would arrive, completed their work, progress was obvious from day today. The crew took the time to explain what they were doing and what they planned to do next so there were no surprises for us. At the end of each day the work area was immaculately cleaned, the floors were swept, tools were neatly stored, basically there was no mess and so the construction affected our lives to a bare minimum.

The finished job is more than we could have imagined. Dobie Properties was meticulous in the finishing of the work to such a degree that it is impossible to tell that the room has undergone a major change. The crew was always open and up front with their work so we are confident that the construction that we can’t see, the framing, wiring and insulation is done to the highest standard.
